Every child deserves Christmas blessings.
Together, we fill homes with toys, hope, and the unforgettable feeling of being loved.
The wonder grows when we give together.
Simi Valley Community Christmas Shoppe connects generous neighbors with children and families who need a little extra magic. Every doll, bike, book, and bear becomes a bright memory.

Joy is on the move.
From jingling hooves to busy elves, every helper has a part in delivering wonder.

Building trust. Delivering joy.
Local officers meet teens where they are—sharing bikes, toys, encouragement, and a Christmas moment that can open doors for years to come.
A new bike. A shared smile. A stronger community.
Be someone’s Christmas miracle.

Meet Lovie Mae Brown.
SVCCS Chairwoman
A wife, chef, friend, and devoted servant of God, Lovie brings a heart for helping others to everything she does. Her missionary work around the world and service here at home reflect her compassion for people from all walks of life.
Her first experience as a Christmas Shop personal shopper changed her heart. Helping a mother struggling to provide for a large family deepened her determination to support families facing difficult circumstances.
Lovie lives by the belief, “The church has left the building.” For her, faith comes alive in our neighborhoods — through a meal, a helping hand, and the simple act of showing someone they matter.
“Love is more than something we say. It’s something we do.”

Meet Yvonne Gutierrez.
Assistant Chairwoman
Originally from Oxnard, Yvonne has proudly called Simi Valley home for the past twenty years. She has a passion for helping others, giving back, and making a positive difference in her community.
She is honored to serve as Assistant Chairwoman of the Simi Valley Community Christmas Shoppe, where she helps support and uplift local families. Above all, she is a proud mother of six — her greatest daily inspiration.
A heart for service, compassion for others, and a commitment to helping those in need.

Meet Virgil Brown.
Volunteer Orientation Leader
Virgil believes God has directed his steps toward the true joy of serving others. After moving to the Moorpark and Simi Valley area, the struggles of people experiencing homelessness stirred a deeper compassion and a desire to make a difference.
His wife, Lovie Brown, has been a tremendous influence in his journey of service. Over the years, Virgil has served in ministries and leadership roles, as well as on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
A simple act at Christmas Shop — helping a woman carry her belongings to her car — became a heartfelt conversation about her struggles. That moment strengthened his commitment to helping others. Today, he finds joy in supporting Lovie and seeing the smiles of children and families at the Shoppe.
His heart’s desire: to spend the rest of his life serving God by serving people.

Meet Alyssa Monet Brown.
Volunteer Coordinator
Alyssa has served the community alongside her parents her whole life. For the past seven years she has been a Christmas Shoppe leader, helping the Shoppe welcome every family that comes through its doors.
She loves how the Shoppe brings more than families together — it brings the whole community. Being part of the memories a family makes here is an honor she does not take lightly.
“I’m honored to be a part of all the special memories made.”

Meet Nicholas Baldinelli.
Family Photographer Leader
For over twenty years, photography has been Nicholas’s passion and creative escape. Drawn to travel, landscapes, and people, he strives to capture the beauty of natural light, the character of a place, and the moments that tell a story.
His goal is simple: images that inspire others to explore the world and preserve memories that last a lifetime. From road trips across the American West to adventures in Banff and Iceland, every journey has deepened his belief that photography is about more than images.
“It’s about experiences, connections, and sharing moments that inspire others to see the world with curiosity and wonder.”

Meet Chrishelle Atencio.
Nativity Leader
A Simi Valley resident since 2007, Chrishelle is a devoted professional, a loving family matriarch, and someone whose life is anchored by her love for God, family, and friends. Originally from Northern California, she lived in Oregon and Washington before settling in Southern California.
Her career spans more than thirty years in the construction industry, specializing in project accounting. Her greatest joy and pride, though, is her family — married twenty-seven years, a mother of four, she has proudly raised six children and is blessed with three grandchildren.
Christmas is her favorite holiday, a season that fits perfectly with her passion for ministry. She volunteers every year at the Shoppe, grateful to serve alongside neighbors who share a heart for Jesus.
Meeting community needs with love, an abundance of blessings, and a cheerful heart.

Meet Crystal Aguilar.
Food Giveaway Leader
When Crystal moved to Simi Valley in 2015, her children were placed on the Christmas Shop list, and that help made a real difference for her family. The Shoppe has held a special place in her heart ever since.
This year she is blessed to give it back as our Food Giveaway Leader. Having received help when her family needed it most, she knows exactly what it means to be supported — and being able to do the same for another family feels amazing to her.
Helping a family the way her family was helped.

Meet Kelly O'Dell.
Entertainment Leader
Kelly has been blessed to be part of the Shoppe since 2019, leading the entertainment year after year. Volunteering and helping families in her community — especially during the holidays — has always been her passion.
Seeing the joy and smiles this event brings to children and their families truly fills her heart. Every year the Shoppe reminds her how much the little things can mean to someone, and she walks away with her heart a little fuller and her spirit renewed.
Giving back is truly one of life's greatest gifts.

Meet Adam Cook.
Personal Shopper Leader
Adam came to the Lord in 2018, and aside from COVID, he has been working with the Shoppe ever since. For the first several years he helped Jonny Miller in the childcare center, then moved into the personal shopper area a couple of years back.
He loves coming back every year, and he is hoping this year will be even better than last.
Every year he loves coming back — and this year he hopes will be better than last.

Meet Sasha Hamilton.
Family Hostess Leader
Sasha is a woman of faith who believes true purpose is found in loving God, loving people, and serving others with a genuine heart. As a devoted mother, she knows how much compassion, family, and faith matter in the lives of the people around us.
With a servant's heart, she strives to be a light in her community — offering encouragement, hope, and kindness wherever she goes. She believes even the smallest acts of love can leave a lasting mark, and that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.
Leading with love, serving with humility, and inspiring others to walk in their God-given purpose.

Meet Steffi Post.
Gift Wrap Leader
Steffi has been blessed to be part of the Shoppe for several years now, and her station takes care of all the gift wrapping for the families who shop. Once parents have finished choosing gifts for their children, they come to visit her fabulous wrapping team, who makes sure every gift is beautifully wrapped and ready to go under the tree for Christmas morning.
She was fortunate to meet Lovie in 2017, and since then Lovie has given her so many incredible opportunities to serve and give back. Being part of the Shoppe each year is truly special to her — she loves working alongside such an amazing group of volunteers.
Helping make Christmas a little more joyful for these wonderful families.

Meet Tina Mitchem.
Hospitality Lead
Tina has served as Hospitality Lead for the Shoppe for a number of years. A small food business owner and former accounts payable and receivable professional, she has a heart for service and a passion for caring for others.
Her connection to the Shoppe is deeply personal. As a single mother of four boys, Tina and her children received support for many years from the loving churches affiliated with the Shoppe. Now that her children are grown, she is grateful for the chance to give back to the organization that helped her family through difficult times — alongside her husband Jeremy, who shares her heart for serving others and volunteers right beside her.
Her greatest joy is sharing the love of Christ with others, just as it was shared with her when she needed it most.
Every family should feel welcomed, cared for, and reminded that they are loved.

Meet Jonny & Sarah Miller.
Jonny · Childcare Leader
Sarah · Head Elf / Toy Department
The Miller family has a huge heart for serving those in need and raising their children in service to others as they serve Jesus. They all serve at Simi Community Church — in the youth group, as camp counselors, and in childcare, tech, and events.
Jonny has served with the Shoppe since 2014 and has been the Childcare Lead for nine years, with his son Oakley a great helper for the past four.
Sarah has served since 2014 as the Personal Shopper Lead, with her daughter Eva by her side since 2022. In 2026, the two of them will be leading the Toy Shoppe together.
A whole family showing up, year after year, to make Christmas brighter for other kids.
